Paphiopedilum
rothschildianum, introduced into cultivation in
1887, is widely agreed to be the most spectacular
orchid in the genus. It is known to occur in the wild
only in Borneo, and has a very limited range. Carol
Woodin's rendition of this beautiful species has been
painstakingly printed at the Stinehour Press of Vermont
using a vintage Heidelburg press, and each print has
been individually hand embellished by the artist in
watercolors. The edition is printed on 100% rag Rising
Gallery paper, and is limited to 250 pencil signed
and numbered impressions and 10 artist's proofs.
