I practice writing by commenting on news stories. I like to practice improv writing like this because the NYT only lets you write 1000 words or something. So a limit is great.

And I have to organize my thoughts on a subject I care about, which is actually challenging enough to keep me interested in this writing practice for a few years now. Whether they publish the comments is a bonus, doesn't matter in the end.

Here is my two cents (read the article to understand my framing.)

The socialist democratic candidate Francesca Hong is ahead in a five way race for to see which Democrat can win and become Wisconsin's next governor.

After years of grassroots organizing, the left has changed the Wisconsin Supreme Court and repealed the Klan Party's redistricting.

Excitement is building across the state for Ms. Hong.

NYT spins the surging leftist's story into one of uncertainty and fear at the end.

What a surprise! So I wrote my morning rant they published.
