Listening requires attention. And asking the right questions.


But it really isn't that complicated. Just give a friend 10 or 15 minutes listen.


Simple but difficult.


They can be friends, family, strangers. Listen to homeless people if you can. Does not matter who.


The key question comes out of the book The Coaching Habit: the AWEsome question.


What is the AWEsome question?


And What Else?


When someone responds to a few opening questions like "


How is it going?


What are biggest obstacles to your dream succeeding?


Just keep the conversation going by asking


And what else?


You will be amazed if you do this one step: keep asking And What Else? until the person you're talking with says "That's it."


A few tips for changing your life whether you are looking at retirement or the next J O B: go together. Get off the screen and find 3-4 people who can create a small community with you. The group serves as your problem solving safe zone plus bonus: consistent accountability buddies.


And get this new book to help you on your way: helpful at every stage in life, the authors started a process at Stanford over 50 years ago and are still going strong.
