Why do we have so many coaches?

Where did coaches come from?

They arrived after the demise of the HR Dept in America's corporations fired them.

It isn't surprising that therapists who are good listeners are helping capitalist corporate leaders keep their stuff together by teaching presence, how to lead, how to listen etc...

Why?

Because our corporations are trauma wards as a result of 50 years of Golden Calf idolatry to the quarterly report.

We've lost touch with work being intrinsically rewarding.

So the coach comes in to patch the team torn apart by greed and tries to humanize the too busy humans.

Nightmare.

I coach people to talk with trees and plant seeds of peace.

It is great work if you can get it.

The new world being born has to include us outside 3 hours a day restoring our relationships with each other and Mother Earth.

For corp coaching I love The Conscious Leadership Group and Reboot are women and men who are solid humans and been through the mill.

Michael Bungay Stangier wrote The Coaching Habit that is a solid small book on coaching for anyone leading with listening.

Read Anthony de Mello,

Steven Covey's 7 Habits

BJ. Fogg Tiny Habits,

Otto Scharmer.

The most difficult thing in the world is to listen.

And this is also our most important work today.
